Peace & Blessings Scholars:

These are interesting times. I pray that we will all be able to tell the story of how overcame. Be of good courage. All of you know that I am a person of faith. I cannot post anything without mentioning how much I pray for us all. All of you are “essential”. Every scholar is important to us. It is our hope that your families are doing well and each of you will remain healthy and whole.

It’s time to get back to work to finish what you started. We are going virtual, but we can still be victorious and accomplish our goals. An inability to come to campus does not interfere with your ability to work to your best potential. All of you should be familiar with our online platforms (Apex and Google Classroom). We’re just taking it to the next level. We were almost at the finish line before Covid-19 interrupted 2020. ACCEL was already in the 4th quarter of the school year. So, all we need to do now is finish strong!

If you are a member of the class of 2020; finish strong! If you got next (the class of 2021); finish strong! If you represent the class of 2022; finish strong! Even if you are just getting started and your class is the class of 2023; you finish strong too!

What can you do to finish strong?

• Log into your student account daily

• Check for assignments and instructions from all of your ACCEL instructors

• Complete your assignments before the due date

• Ask for assistance via email or Google Classroom (Do not sit idle or struggle in silence)

• Close out your Apex courses (w/notes of course. By the way... ACCEL Academy utilizes Google Classroom as a resource for academic instruction. We do not Google answers... just saying.)

• Finalize your post secondary plans (graduating seniors only)

We were already in the game. Third quarter ended and 4th quarter rolled in. We just had to take an extended time out. Now, put those 4’s back up and finish strong!

There is a song I love call “Strong Finish” by Jonathan Nelson. It is a song of empowerment to encourage the heart to stay determined and press forward in spite of opposition. It’s about having faith and finishing what you started. Part of the song says:

Life's transitions all in my way

Well, still I'm onward bound

Each and every day

No matter what, I'll continue to run

For the rest of my life

'Til my work is done

I'm going to have a strong finish

Because I have strong faith

I'm going to have a strong finish

I have strong faith

This pandemic has the entire world on pause, but we have a window of opportunity to finish what we started. I hope and pray that we will all make it to the finish line- healthy and strong. ACCEL Forward scholars and finish strong!
