Continue to ACCEL Forward! If you have already submitted college applications, it is imperative that you contact the admissions office or your recruiter for admissions support. Colleges and universities are still working to prepare for the 2020-2021 school year. Plese do not forget to check your emails, read the mail they send, and respond promptly. You do not want to miss any deadlines. Coronavirus has caused delays, but you must continue to submit information as requested. Here are some tips:
Visit college webpages to find out about recruitment, admissions, financial aid, scholarships, housing, and other information.
Check your email daily. If you have already been accepted, log into the student portal the college gave you access to as often as possible.
Read materials sent via US mail as soon as you receive it. Do not sit iformation colleges send to the side. You may miss an important update or deadline.
If you have not completed the FAFSA, hurry and do so. Completing the FAFSA is apart of the college admissions process (whether your family qualifies or not).
If you have completed the FAFSA, make sure that your information is correct. Respond to the college's financial aid office when they email or send a letter via US mail. Each school will send additional information for you to complete and submit by a certain deadline. Respond ASAP! If you do not respond, you may not recieve a full award package or aid at all. All colleges and universities have an Office of Financial Aid. Contact them via phone or email to ensure receipt of your FAFSA information and to ask questions. These are trained specialist and they can assist you, especially if you have special circumstances.
If you receive a notice from a college to submit an IRS tax trancript, do not delay. Log into the IRS portal, submit a request for the tax transcript. You may request it to be sent via email or US mail. Submit it to the college financial aid office as soon as you receive it. Keep a copy for your records. Please be advised, if you are selected to send a tax trancript and fail to do so, financial aid will not be awarded.
Make sure that you show your parent/guardian all of the communication you receive. Their information is also needed to complete your admissions process.
Please be sure to add your school counselor information to your application when asked. They will be expecting the counselor to send information. Ms. Pippins is your counselor. Her email address is lpippins@accelacademymobile.com.
Again, contact the Office of Admissions, Office of Financial Aid, Housing, and recruiter at the college or university. They are available to assist you. Be mindful of deadlines!
Answer the phone when they call. Respond to emails. Send emails. Graduation is around the corner. We must stay engaged, connected, and future-focused.
