π£ Be respectful of classmates, teachers, the library facility, and all materials and equipment.Β
π£ No Food Allowed!
π£ Students are expected to utilize the library for reading, working, or studying.
π£ Keep the noise level down to be respectful of others reading, working, or studying.
π£ Students are not allowed to move furniture from its designated spot unless permission is given from Mrs. Romero.
π£ Help take care of the space by cleaning up after yourself before leaving.
Students who do not follow these expectations will be asked to leave the library. Any RHS school rules that are violated may also result in a write-up or morning detention based on the RHS Student Handbook policies and procedures.Β
π‘ In order to maintain the library environment, students need to be mindful to leave the library as they found it.
π‘ This includes treating library materials with care and preserving shelf order and organization.
π‘ Students should not remove chairs from their designated tables and should throw away all trash, push in their chairs, and return any borrowed items to the circulation desk prior to exiting the library.
π£ All students are required to show photo ID prior to signing out material.
π£ Books are checked out for 3 weeks (15 school days).
π£ You may check out up to 3-5 books at a time.
π£ If items are currently unavailable, you may ask to have it placed on hold. Pending holds expire in 21 days, while ready holds expire in 7.
π£ Students are responsible for all materials checked out under their name.Β
π£ In order to renew library materials, students must have the item present. Items may only be renewed once.
π£ A receipt will be provided to a student as they check out materials. This is the studentβs notice of when materials need to be turned in or renewed.
π£ Books are to be returned on or before the provided due date via the book drop-off slot located inside the circulation desk or drop box outside the entryway.
π£ Students may not check out any other item until overdue items are returned or renewed.
π£ Lost or damaged library materials will result in a replacement fee.
π£ Library materials must be returned before departing Rayne High during the school year or before the end of the school year.
π£ Reference materials may not be checked out or removed from the library.
π‘ Textbooks are distributed to students based on the discretion of their assigned teachers.
π‘ If assigned a textbook, students are solely responsible for possession and care of the book.Β
π‘ Lost or damaged (water, tear, etc. ) textbooks will result in a replacement fee.
π‘ Textbooks must be returned before departing Rayne High during the school year or before the end of the school year.
π£ All fines and fees notices will be distributed throughout the school year for each progress report and report card for each nine week period.
π£ All damage fines and replacement fees must be paid before students register for fall classes or receive report cards throughout the year.Β
π£ Graduating seniors must also clear fines and fees in order to participate in the graduation ceremony.
If you would like to make a button and add flare to your lanyard/book sack, you will need to do the following:Β
π‘ Design your button using the template provided in Canva (Find a blank space to add your design to the template. DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES DELETE OR ALTER ANY ONE ELSE'S WORK! If you are caught doing this, you will be written up and no longer allowed to make flare!)
π‘ Come to the library during your lunch period and find your design on Mrs. Romero's desk
π‘ Ask Mrs. Romero for the other supplies needed to make the button
π‘ Go to the maker space and create your buttonΒ
(Use the tutorial video below from American Button Machine if you need help making your button.)
π£ Chromebooks and the Internet must be used in accordance with the districtβs Internet Acceptable Use Policy Form and instructions from library staff or school faculty and personnel. Failure to adhere to these policies will result in restriction from library and/or technology privileges.
π£ Chromebooks may be checked out to students (for home use only) per a nine week loan period. Any damages or issues must be reported via the Chromebook Repair Form. Students may be liable for repair or replacement fees. Please see the Fees list for more details.Β
π£ Students may utilize printers to print notes, class materials, and research.
π£ Students are not charged for printing, but may not print more than 10 pages at a time.
π£ Note: Colored printing is available. Please see the librarian for assistance.Β
The makerspace is a designated area in the library where you can build, create, and experiment. All students are invited to bring their ideas to life using this space, but here is how it works:Β
π‘β The makerspace is open to students during operation hours.
π‘β All items in the space are acceptable to use. Please use only materials you need and try to reduce waste of materials.
π‘βΒ The 3D printer and circuit will require some training before use or supervision during use.
π‘β Clean up space once you are finished.
π‘β Let Mrs. Romero know if there are any products, materials, or supplies that you would like to see in the makerspace.Β
π‘β Misuse of the makerspace can result in a write up and revoked privileges.Β
