A+Campus recommends that parents/guardians consider each student’s specific needs, challenges and goals before enrolling in the program. While A+Campus is open to students of grades 3-12, younger children (grades 3-5) tend to require strong and consistent adult involvement in their home learning. For older students (grades 6-12), the ability to be self-motivated and manage time and schoolwork is very important.
When will A+campus registration and courses be available?
Students registered in grades 3-12 at any Acadia Parish Public School for the 2024-2025 school year should complete the A+Campus application form before July 19, 2024. The application can be found on the A+Campus website.
Students in grades 3-12 transferring from home-study, private or any out of parish school should register at their zoned school, and then complete the A+Campus application. Applications and all requested documentation will be reviewed by the Acadia Parish Schools Admissions Committee to determine approved enrollment in the program.
After the application deadline, any student wishing to enroll in A+Campus must complete a virtual application.. Student applications received after the deadline will only be reviewed if they are new to the district, have documented health concerns (occuring after the due date), or have a documented extenuating circumstance. Once the student is accepted into the Virtual Learning Program, he/she will remain a student of the school where he/she is zoned to attend.
Students & Parents must complete the orientation process with A+Campus before being officially enrolled in the program. A student’s official start date will be based on completion of the orientation process. Any student awaiting acceptance into the virtual program, must attend campus face to face.
Will students have to commit to the full year if they start as an A+campus student? When/how can they transition back to school?
Students enrolled in A+Campus will be accepted on a provisional basis. During this time students/parents may decide to stay or transition back to traditional school.
3-8 grade students will be asked to make a 9 week commitment to A+Campus following the provisional period. Students may transition to traditional school at the beginning of each 9 weeks.
High school students who are enrolled full-time will be asked to make a full year commitment to A+Campus. This is due to the inability to schedule a 4x4 (which is similar to block scheduling) on the high school campus.
Any student (grades 3-12) who transitions back to traditional school with failing grades will be ineligible to re enroll in A+Campus for a period of 12 months.
Requests to change from virtual learning to in-person before the end of the commitment period will only be considered in extenuating circumstances that are approved by the Acadia Parish Schools Admissions Committee and the SBLC of the base school. In some instances, students may be required to complete Edgenuity coursework in a face to face setting.
