Having a dress code promotes unity and professionalism in the studio.
For your convenience, we carry EVERYTHING your student needs!
ALL DANCE ATTIRE MUST BE A SOLID COLOR
A SOLID COLOR is defined as no text, graphic, pattern, or logo.
(Except Academy of Dance Logo)
No jeans or non-dance shorts/skirts are allowed in any class.
BALLET and LYRICAL students, if not wearing a unitard, other acceptable options are leotards and High Waisted dance pants. No dance shorts or capris length. Students may wear chiffon ballet skirts and form-fitting ballet sweaters over leotards/unitards.
JAZZ and TAP students, if not wearing a unitard, may wear dance shorts (with tights) or dance pants over their leotard. Chiffon skirts may also be worn over leotard/unitard.
HIP HOP students, if not wearing a unitard, must wear dance pants that come past the knee (as is required for floor work), and a top (leotard or solid color shirt of any kind).
LYRA students, if not wearing a unitard, must wear dance pants that come past the knee (as is required for hoop work in Lyra) with a leotard.
ACRO students must have their legs covered and feet bare. If not wearing a unitard, other acceptable options are tights (stirrup, convertible, or footless), or dance pants with a leotard.
Dance SHOES are required to be purchased through the studio to ensure proper fit, brand (Revolution) requirements, and showcase performance unison.
BALLET students wear classic pink canvas or leather, depending on class.
TAP students wear black mary jane style or slip ons, depending on class.
HIP HOP and JAZZ students wear black slip-on jazz shoes.
LYRICAL students wear footies.
ACRO and LYRA students do not wear shoes and should be attended barefoot.
HAIR must be pulled away from the face and off the shoulders in every class. Ballet and Lyrical classes require a bun. If your student has hair that can't be pulled up, thick headbands work well in keeping hair out of the face.
Minimal JEWELRY - no dangle earrings, hoops, necklaces, bracelets, or watches, etc.
No NAILS past the fingertip in any class. Longer nails can injure your student and others.
To prevent debris on dance floors, dance shoes must not be worn in and out of the building.
Each student must have a bag for belongings.
Please make sure your student's name is on everything.
Only WATER is permitted in the studio - Please bring a water bottle with your student’s name clearly labeled on it.
No cellphones, tablets, smartwatches, or other smart devices are allowed during class.
