WELCOME TO COACH URIBE’S PE CLASS!
My name is Guillermo Uribe and I will be your child’s PE teacher this year. It is my pleasure to be able to work with your child as we have many great and fun things planned for this school year! My goal is to be able to encourage your child to live a healthy lifestyle and to help them achieve their goals, whether it is to become more skilled at a sport or to build excitement when it comes to health and fitness.
Here are a few quick notes so that you can help set your child up for success:
Please make sure your child is wearing a pair of sneakers or tennis shoes to be able to participate in PE. Shoes should be black as per the uniform policy. ACSP’s uniform policy will be enforced. NO HOODIES!
Most of our activities will be outside. I encourage students to bring a water bottle to stay hydrated and drink plenty of water.
Your child will be assigned one day per week to wear their ACSP PE uniform (can be purchased from Ibiley). All students should be wearing their PE uniform on their designated day.
2nd Grade: Tuesdays
3rd Grade: Wednesdays
4th Grade: Thursdays
5th Grade: Tuesdays
If your child is not in uniform or does not have the proper footwear, an alternative assignment will be given in order to give them a grade. This uniform policy for PE will be enforced as it allows for a safer environment and prevention of accidents.
If your child is unable to participate in physical activity, please provide a doctor’s note so that an alternative assignment can be provided.
If your child is injured or is not feeling well during PE, an accident report will be filled out. You will be contacted either by the school nurse or myself. The report must be signed by the parents.
My #1 rule in class is RESPECT! Students are expected to play fairly and be kind to each other. WE ARE ALL TEAM PLAYERS!
My goal is to encourage an environment where students can work together to achieve a common goal, and most importantly to see that being healthy and fit is FUN! If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me. My email is guribe@academircharterschoolpreparatory. Once again, I’m very excited to teach your child this school year.
Sincerely,
Coach Uribe
