Basic reading skills include phonemic awareness, sight word recognition, phonics, and word analysis. Essential skills include identification of individual sounds and the ability to manipulate them; identification of printed letters and sounds associated with letters; and decoding of written language
ABC Mouse: ABC Mouse is a paid site but they currently offer 30 days free.
StarFall: StarFall is a great website and app. There is a free section and a paid section. Lots of things are free! Great basic phonics practice and fun games.

Blast Off To Reading: Mme Shannon and Mme Bridget have students working in these books. There are codes you use to unlock games.
Free Reading Program: Your child's special educator may have a specific level or activity that they would like your child to access from this site. It's free to log in and create an account.
Bookshare: If your child is eligible for services in one or more areas in READING, they are eligible to receive a FREE Bookshare account. Bookshare has loads of free audio reader books. The service's computer "reads" to your child and highlights the word as it goes along. Please contact Mme Bridget if you need a login for your child. bpfeiffer@academielafayette.org
