Maumelle Charter Elementary School has received an A on the school performance report card for the 2017-18 school year. MCE has been named a Rewards School for high academic performance in the 2017-18 school year and awarded $62,979.30 for performing in the top 5% of all public and charter schools in the state of Arkansas.

APCSI BOARD TO APPOINT TRUSTEE

The Academics Plus Charter Schools, Inc. (APCSI) Board of Trustees is seeking a qualified individual to fill the annually appointed trustee position. This appointment will be conducted in accordance with Section III of the APCSI Bylaws. To apply please submit a letter of intent to rob.mcgill@academicsplus.org by 4:00p.m. April 3, 2019.

Candidates will be interviewed by the Board of Trustees during the April 8, 2019 regularly scheduled board meeting. The meeting will be held at 6:00p.m. in the administration office board room located at 600 Edgewood Drive, Maumelle, AR 72113.

The term of this trustee position will begin April 2019 and end April 2022.

The APCS Board of Trustees has a new Facebook group for sharing important Board information. The group is public, and the link to join is: https://www.facebook.com/groups/2041539696139075/. All join requests will be approved.

Two Booster Club Positions Open for Nominations

MCS Athletic Booster Club is getting ready to hold elections.

The positions of both President and Treasurer are up for election this year. Nominations will be taken beginning March 15th through March 31st. The nominations can be sent to Shellyze@youthhome.org.

Members will vote in mid April. The new board will take over on May 1st and will work with the current officers on the Athletic Banquet.

MCS Chess Club Wins Big!

The Chess team won the following:

Anant Borad won 1st in the highest level of MS play; Weston Kelley got 3rd place in his level; Cohen Jackson got 1st place in his level; Miles Wilson got 2nd place in his level; and the team got 2nd for elementary schools!

MCES Quiz Bowl Wins 1st Place in 2A Championship!

MCES Quiz Bowl won after several rounds of competition on Friday, February 22. Their hard work and preparation paid off with a 1st place win! They will be headed to the state competition soon!

Attention Parents:

If your student is out of dress code on any day of the week, especially, Falcon Wear Monday and Free Dress Friday, then he or she will lose the Free Dress Friday the following Friday. They will also have to change, whether that is a parent bringing a change of clothes or the student wearing something from the nurse. Please see page 8-10 in the Student Handbook.

Design Camp offers the chance to learn about the design professions through hands-on projects, tours, presentations and discussions led by architecture, landscape architecture and interior design faculty of the Fay Jones School. Students have the opportunity to work closely with faculty and collaborate with peers in a fun and creative studio environment as they explore the design process.
