The Department of Education (DOE) Licensure & Certification office works to support the Department’s mission to empower every learner with the highest quality education through shared leadership, innovative practices and exemplary services. DOE works in conjunction with the Delaware Professional Standards Board to continually improve the quality of instruction for Delaware's children so that they are equipped to work and succeed in an ever-changing and increasingly complex global economy. To do this, the Licensure & Certification office:
provides excellent customer service to local education agencies and the public, responding to inquiries regarding licensure and certification of educators;
promulgates rules and regulations proposed by the Professional Standards Board and approved by the State Board.
The Department issues licenses, certificates and permits to eligible educators seeking credentials to be an educator, an administrator, or other professional support service staff.
DEEDS is used to monitor your license and certification

This year we are going to be using Class Team Building for our monthly activities. This is going to allow our school to engage in professional level team building, staff appreciation, and morale boosters all year. It has big programs that fit within the school calendar (Welcome Back, the Holidays, Teacher Appreciation Week, etc…) as well as providing smaller activities that might only last one afternoon.
We hope by using this program this year, it will take the burden off teams to have to plan and organize but still make sure we can all have some FUN at work.
For those returning teachers, this is the company we used for our Game of Games event in May! So you now have an idea what this year can look like. For our new friends, check out this slide show to see the fun we had during teacher appreciation week by click on the picture to the left.
Caught Going Above and Beyond!
When teachers are caught going above and beyond their normal job requirements, they can be "nominated" to receive a scratch off card. These scratch off cards then contain rewards such as:
Jeans Pass
Arrive to work 1/2 hour late
Leave work 1/2 hour early
30 minutes extra planning time
Duty Free day (no recess or lunch duty)
Class Movie
To nominate a teacher, there is a bucket with notecards in Jen Jones's office. Fill out a card and leave it on her desk and that teacher will receive the scratch off cards.
To redeem a card, just let Jen J know so arrangements can be made.
