 Communal institution of higher education Vinnytsia Academy of Continuing Education is an educational institution that is an integral part of the postgraduate education system in Ukraine and at the same time an institution that trains higher education applicants.

The educational institution was established in 1940 by Order No. 512 of the People's Commissariat of Education of the USSR "On the Organisation of Regional Institutes for Teacher Training", later renamed as the Regional Institute for Postgraduate Education of Pedagogical Workers, later - the Municipal Higher Educational Institution "Vinnytsia Academy of Continuing Education", since 2020 - the Municipal Higher Educational Institution "Vinnytsia Academy of Continuing Education".

The mission of the Academy is to develop a professional, a citizen, a patriot, a carrier of humanistic culture who is competitive, actively influences the intellectual, spiritual, sustainable development of Ukraine and successfully integrates into the European and global environment. 

The main activities of the Academy are:

- training of higher education students;

- professional development of teachers and other staff;

- scientific and methodological support of pre-school, general secondary, vocational and extracurricular education;

- innovative activities in the development, testing, examination of new educational technologies and management models, promotion of their implementation in the activities of educational institutions; 

- conducting fundamental and applied research, and putting it into practice.

For 8 decades of activity in the field of education, the Academy has formed and is constantly updating a close-knit, creative team. Since March 2008, the institution has been headed by Rector Stepan Drovoziuk. Currently, the Academy has 5 departments, 18 subdepartments and 7 laboratories.

The powerful staff has become the key to the significant achievements of the Department of Management and Administration. In 2016, Vinnytsia Academy of Continuing Education received a licence to carry out educational activities for the training of specialists in the field of Management and Administration, in the speciality "Public Administration and Management" of the Bachelor's degree, and further training of specialists in this speciality of the second (Master's) and third (educational and scientific) levels. The relevant study programmes have been accredited.

In January-February 2024, one-time specialised academic councils were established and the first three Doctor of Philosophy dissertations were defended.

On 1 April 2014, the Department of Ecology and Natural and Mathematical Disciplines was established by the decision of the Academic Council of Vinnytsia Academy of Continuing Education. In 2016, the Academy received a licence from the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine to train students of the Bachelor's degree in the speciality 101 "Ecology" of the field of knowledge 10 "Natural Sciences", and the following year - a licence to train students of the same speciality for the Master's degree.
