This website is dedicated to all the military-affiliated gifted scholars. It serves all gifted children, but has a focus on military-affiliated gifted scholars near Fort Liberty, NC. Thank you for your service, patience, resilience and tenacity.
Welcome!
I am Casey Yoklic, a teacher with over 15 years of experience in a general education setting. I am currently studying to become AIG certified through Eastern Carolina University and created this website as a part of that journey. I teach fifth grade math and science at Anderson Creek Academy, a public charter school located north of Fort Liberty, NC. I have a passion for working with military-affiliated scholars. Our community consists of about 75% military-affiliated scholars and our staff is also comprised of military spouses and veterans. We are proudly a Purple Star Designated School.
Education is a life-long road. Some of the major attractions along the road I've driven thus far are a BA in Elementary Education from The Catholic University of America, a M. Ed. in Educational Leadership from Concordia University, and now approaching AIG Certification through Eastern Carolina University. I seek opportunities to enrich myself as an educator through professional development as well. One of my favorite PDs I have attended is the Virginia Children's Engineering Council Convention.
I was introduced to gifted education when I was assigned a gifted classroom when teaching in a public school in Virginia. I loved all of the unique points of view, the depth of the thinking, and the creativity I saw in my gifted students. I knew this path was a road I wanted to travel.
Please feel free to drive along and see how scholars are...
GIFTED EVERYWHERE THEY GO!
