Each of the links below will take you to that area’s gifted program pages. If your child has already qualified for gifted programs, North Carolina has signed the Interstate Compact which transfers services between states to ensure a continued gifted education for gifted children. In order to learn more about the services offered, select the county in which you plan to (or already) live. There are two links for each county/area. The first link will bring you to the official website and description of the AIG Program. The second link will bring you to the NC Report Card system for each county so you can look at the data from NCDPI. Please remember many of the items on the NCDPI report card are based on the End of Grade (EOG) Assessments scholars take. These are high-stakes tests that do not show the picture of the whole child. I encourage you to dig deeper than test scores when selecting a district in which to live, which is why I’ve included a wildcard for each county!  The third link for the counties is something I found in my digging that I think will help you to get a sense of that county’s gifted program.
