Mechatronics Engineering | Robotics | Industrial Designer | Motion Designer
Opeoluwa Emmanuel, also known as Vesto, is a Mechatronics and Robotics Engineer working at the intersection of robotics, industrial design, and motion design. He holds a first degree in Mechatronics Engineering and a Master's in Mechatronics and Robotics Engineering, where he specialized in autonomous robotic systems and SLAM based navigation.
His postgraduate research focused on autonomous in-pipe inspection robots, which led to a publication at the IEEE Nigeria Section in 2024 on advanced SLAM navigation for industrial maintenance.
Over the years he has built projects including an autonomous in-pipe inspection robot, a semi-autonomous forklift system, renewable energy simulations, and embedded control devices, working across ROS2, Gazebo, RViz, MATLAB/Simulink, SolidWorks, KeyShot, and Python/C++.
More recently, his focus has shifted toward machine learning and reinforcement learning, training and testing control policies in MuJoCo. He's also exploring vision-language-action models, vision-language models, and large language models, looking at how they can give robots a better sense of what they're seeing and being asked to do, alongside continued research and new papers in the pipeline.
Outside of robotics, he works in industrial design and motion design, using Blender, Adobe Illustrator, and After Effects to turn engineering concepts into clear visuals and animations.
He's interested in building robotic systems that are genuinely useful and easy to work with, and in keeping the engineering and creative sides of his work connected rather than separate.
Added VLA, VLM, and LLM into the current-focus paragraph, framed around what they actually give a robot (better perception and instruction-following) rather than just listing acronyms.
Let’s connect! I welcome collaborations in robotics research, design, and applied innovation.
