Prof. Ebenezer Tunde Yebisi, LL.B (Hons) LL.M, Ph.D, B.L

Professor Yebisi is a member of the Nigerian Association of Law Teachers and a member of the Nigeria Bar Association.  He joined the College of Law, ABUAD in 2019. Between 2016 and 2018, he had stints at ABUAD, College of Law, first on Sabbatical Leave and then a Post-doctoral Fellowship all at the Department of Private and Business Law. He is currently the Provost, College of Law, Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State.

His research and teaching interest include Corporate Law, Corporate Governance, Co-operative Societies Law, and Law and Development.  He teaches Company Law, Equity and Trusts, Torts, Contracts, Legal Methods and Legal Research Methodology.

Professor Yebisi was born 65 years ago, had his education at the University of Ife, now Obafemi Awolowo University (LL.B and LL.M), Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti (Ph.D.), and his professional training at the Nigerian Law School where he was awarded the BL and also won the Prince Bola Ajibola Prize in Civil Procedure (1980). He has a certificate in Cooperative Governance from the University of British Columbia, Canada.

He was between August 2018 and July 2019, the Ag. Dean of Law, Ekiti State University, and was also Ag. Head of Department of Private and Business Law, College of Law, ABUAD from 2016 to 2018.

He was a member of the Council of Legal Education, from 2018 to July, 2019.  He has also held teaching positions in the Faculties of Law at the Universities of Ibadan and Ilorin.  He has been an External Examiner, Postgraduate in several Universities across the country.

He has published widely both locally and internationally. He was the pioneer editor of the Selected Judgments of the High Court of Lagos State, published by Evans Brothers Ltd. (Ibadan). He was also the Editor – in – Chief of the maiden edition of the ABUAD Private and Business Law Journal.  He has a book on the Governance of Co-operative Societies published in Germany and lately a co-authored book on Nigeria Legal Method. In 2015 he won a Tetfund grant for research on Corporate and Business Rescue.  He is currently working on a manuscript on Limited Liability Partnership.

His Ph.D thesis on Co-operative Societies Law in Nigeria stands him out as a foremost scholar in this area of Law and he is currently working towards giving Co-operative Societies Law a deserving place of prominence in the Law Curriculum of Nigerian Universities. 

Prof. Yebisi is happily married with adult children and grandchildren as well as many other young colleagues and students which he passionately mentors.
