The Williams High School Academy of Finance (AOF) is:

· A smaller learning community at Williams High School in partnership with The National Academy Foundation (NAF). There are over 112,000 students in over 600 academies across over 400 schools throughout the United States.

· Both NAF and the Williams High School AOF have a proven record of preparing students for careers in business, marketing and entrepreneurship, and preparing all students, regardless of their career interest, for post-secondary educational opportunities.

· AOF is the only Nationally Certified Academy in the school system, and 100% of our graduates have gone on to some type of post-secondary education.

Our program focuses on rigor, relevance and relationships. We use a demanding curriculum provided from NAF, which is updated regularly to stay up to date with current events and trends. Through a strong advisory board of local business professionals, we keep our program relevant to what is going on in our own community. We also have a cooperative relationship with the Williams International Baccalaureate Programme. Students may be dually enrolled as a freshman to ensure proper scheduling and pathway completion.

One of the biggest advantages of our program is that we not only build relationships with students, but we help students build positive relationships with each other. We offer a variety of activities including:

· Field trips to New York City, other Financial Hubs, and to various North Carolina colleges and universities.

· Career Technical Student Organization events, including FBLA competitive events and leadership development conferences.

· For incoming freshman, we will also be offering students the opportunity to be grouped together in their English, Science and Social Studies classes. This will provide the opportunity for students to participate in projects that will cross all curriculums, and help them develop a greater understanding of how these subjects and the world of work are connected.
