 I should stay home when I'm sick.pdf
I should stay home when I'm sick.pdfWith all of the recent cold and flu cases throughout Alamance County, as well as the looming threat of corona virus, it is imperative that students and parents follow our districts illness policies. Please see the attached image for the guidelines. It is also not acceptable for students to be carrying any medication in their backpacks, over the counter or prescription, without a physician order. Please speak with your school nurse if you have any questions or concerns. Let's all work together to keep everyone as healthy as possible.

ALL out of state students who have joined the Eastern Family need to have a completed North Carolina Health assessment and provide updated immunizations. These need to be given to the nurse by Sept 24th, or your child will be suspended until the required documentation is received. The North Carolina Health assessment can be found at https://sites.google.com/abss.k12.nc.us/abssschoolnurses/parents/prek-and-new-students
All students that have a medical condition that may or may not require medication....diabetes, severe allergies, asthma, migraines, cardiac, should have an emergency medical plan on file with the school nurse. These forms can be found at https://sites.google.com/abss.k12.nc.us/abssschoolnurses/parents/emergency-medical-plans
If your student also needs medications at school, prescription or non-prescription, a medication authorization needs to be completed by your child's physician. The medication form can be found at https://sites.google.com/abss.k12.nc.us/abssschoolnurses/parents/medication-forms
Thank you for your attention to these requirements! Here's to a healthy, successful school year!
May 10, 2019
If your child took prescription medication during school hours this past year at Eastern High School, please plan to pick up any medication that may be remaining at the end of the school year. The medication will be available for you to pick up for two (2) weeks after the last day of school. After that time the school will dispose of any remaining medication. Also if your child had a known medical condition the School Nurse needs you to complete an Emergency health plan so that she can provide the necessary care for your child should a need arise. Students with known medical concerns should be coming home with appropriate Emergency Medical Plans this week for the upcoming school year. Should your child not bring one home, they can be found under the parent's tab on the ABSS School Nurse page: https://sites.google.com/abss.k12.nc.us/abssschoolnurses/home?authuser=0
Please also be advised that students CAN NOT carry medication in their backpack unless it has been prescribed by a physician and that the school has a medication authorization for that medication....YES, this includes Tylenol, Motrin, Midol, etc! Should you have any questions, please call Nurse Trish Garrett at 919-563-5991
