What is a School Nurse?
Check out this video from your ABSS School Nurses giving you a first hand look into some of the things we do on a daily basis.
Attention: From the Nurse's Office
Attention all Rising 7th Graders:
The North Carolina Immunization Law requires that students must have the following immunizations:
1) Meningococcal vaccines (one dose is required for individuals entering the 7th grade or by age 12 whichever comes first, on or after July 1, 2015
2) Tdap for all students entering 7th or by age 12, whichever comes first, on or after July 15, 2015.
If your child needs one or more of the vaccines checked above, please visit your doctor or clinic. Vaccines are due by the 30th day each school year. Please do not wait until August as appointments fill up quickly throughout the area. Immunizations may also be received at the Alamance County Health Department Monday through Friday. Call 336-570-6459 for an appointment. You must take all your child’s immunization records with you to your appointment so that your child does not receive duplicate vaccines. When the required doses have been given, bring a documented shot record to the school office.
