In during the 2001-2002 school year I began the process of seeking certification from the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards in Early Adolescence Social Studies/History. I gained my certification in November 2002. I have since renewed through 2027.

A user of BrainPOP for more than a decade, I upped my knowledge by attaining Brainpop Certified Educator status in December 2019

I started using Canvas LMS with my students in the 2015-16 school year. During Summer 2016 I took a weeklong training course from the North Carolina Center for the Advancement of Teaching (NCCAT). Since that time I have taken numerous NCCAT courses on Canvas. In January 2022 I completed a yearlong journey in the Canvas Certified Educator program.

I was excited to started my journey with Classcraft in May 2021. Since that time I have obtained Level 1 and Level 2. In Spring 2022 I presented at the Annual Conference of North Carolina Council for the Social Studies on the successes of engagement when using Classcraft.  I actively use Classcraft with my students.

I am excited to learn the ways I can utilize the features of Clever.

I started using Edpuzzle in Fall 2020. I obtained Coach status soon after that.

The Flocabulary Master Certified Educator program was started in 2016.  I have been a part of it since the inception of the program.

During the 2020-2021 school year I used the free version of the Kami app. After taking the certification course I realize I need all the features of the program. I am excited to have to be currently using the full paid version.
