RJG students are allowed to check out up to three (3) library items at a time for research, study, and independent pursuits.  Students may check out library materials for three (3) weeks at a time.

Books may be renewed if no one else is waiting for the item.  Students may only renew a book if someone is waiting for it if they are currently using the book for a school-related project.

Materials that are not renewed or returned on or before their due date, or are returned damaged, are not available to other students and teachers who may need or want them, and are considered overdue.

• Reminder notices are sent to students through their @abschools.org email two (2) days before library materials are due.

• At the end of each term, students will receive a slip identifying any overdue materials and notifying students that a bill will be sent home if these materials are not returned.

• The following week, a bill will be sent to the home address and/or email address on file for the student and parent, asking for the materials to be returned, replaced, or for payment to be made for the replacement value of the item(s) within one week.  After that time, the student’s account will be frozen, and they will be unable to borrow any materials until the fine has been satisfied.

• The replacement cost for items that are lost or damaged is as follows:

  • Fiction, Graphic Novels, Story Collections $20

  • Manga $15

  • General Non-Fiction (including Memoir and Biography) $25

  • Reference and Encyclopedias $75

• Students with outstanding obligations at the end of the school year will have their accounts frozen and be unable to check out any materials the following year until obligations are met.
