Welcome to Digital Literacy 7! Digital Literacy is a pass/fail exploratory course taught to seventh graders.

Engagement through a digital platform is central to our personal, social and educational landscape. While technology may surround them, it does not guarantee that students are comfortable or fully reflective about its application. It's useful for students to participate in a structured and guided program where they are introduced to key concepts and ideas regarding why, how, when and where to utilize various digital tools effectively and responsibly.

Applications to be used: Gmail, Google Classroom, Google Docs, Drawings, Screen Castify, Forms, Spreadsheet, Presentation, Slides, Maps, EdPuzzle, Pear Deck, Remove.bg, Jamboard and typing.com.

Additionally, this course will allow the practice for correct keyboarding skills during the typing unit.

l introduce strategies for conducting efficient and effective internet research, key aspects of internet and personal privacy, online safety and assist students with developing an overall comfort with the tools and digital formats that are increasingly embedded within their different classes and the projects the teachers assign. The time management/self discipline project REMAINS an integral part of my course!!!!
