Student Council Expectations
The Student Council is an integral part of the system which directly reviews school policies directly affecting the student body. It is also our responsibility to represent students and act as a direct link between students and the administration. In addition to proposing or reviewing school policies, we also host many school-wide events, like Hypnotist, Carnations, and Senior vs. Staff Basketball Game.

Not enough members were present to hold a vote. Vote scheduled for next meeting 2/9/22.

Carnations: The Student Council will sell carnations (red, pink, and white) for Valentine's Day
Carnations will come with a note, which the Student Council must go through to make sure they're appropriate
King Sized candy bar will be sold
Everyone who buys a carnation will have to guess how many Hershey's Kisses are in a jar. The person with the closest guess will get the entire jar.
Powder Puff Game with Concord-Carlisle High School proposed date: 4/15
Each school will chip in money to buy a trophy
Timeline for OACA
Eric will meet with Ms. Dean for preliminary suggestions and make necessary changes (1 week).
Edited proposal will be sent to Department Leaders and the administrations through Ms. Dean by the end of January.

Advisory
The original goal of advisory was to help students build a connection with an adult who does not grade them.
Now, advisories are once a month, opposed to weekly 2 years ago

Will take place on a Saturday night, after a football game during the day.

Powder Puff
Powder Puff will officially take place on 11/23, the Tuesday before Thanksgiving. The time of the event is undecided, but will likely be from 6-8 PM.
T-Shirts
T-Shirts will cost $10 and the Student Council will sell them for $20.
Pre-Order Price for Students: $7
Adults Tickets (and possibly tickets sold at the door) will cost $9.
T-Shirts will be ordered by the end of next week due to shipping time.

The Student Council usually earns $1,000 in profit each year. However, due to the pandemic, the Student Council lost $1,500 last year.
Goal for this year: $6,500

After contacting Mr. Martin, the Student Council was notified that Leary Field could potentially be in use on 11/6. Several alternative Powder Puff dates were proposed: 11/23 and 10/30. The Student Council overwhelmingly voted to hold Powder Puff on 10/30 from 4-6 PM.
Powder Puff T-Shirts will be designed by Student Council members and voted by the student body. The T-Shirt design for each class have the same design on the front, but in different colorways.
The Student Council will need to purchase new flags since ones from 2 years ago were taken.
Hallway Congestion
The Student Council will create a video to explain hallway etiquette.
Wi-Fi
The administration has not been able to end the Wi-Fi crisis. The Student Council work will the principal to resolve this issue.
Committees
The Student Council will establish committees to encourage more school policies. Committees will consist of at least one member from each grade. Members will listen to feedback from the student body and find solutions.

The Student Council will be involved in promoting school events through social media and TVs in the school.

Powder Puff Planning
Chaperones will cost $750 for 2.5 hours. The Student Council proposed the following ideas to increase revenue:
Increase in ticket prices: $7 ($91. if purchased later) for students and $9 for adults. Note that ticket prices are subject to change.
Concessions: Hot chocolate from Dunkins', baked goods, pizza, packaged snacks from Costco, and bottled beverages.
T-Shirts: T-Shirts must be purchased by those participating in Powder Puff. Price will range from $15-$20. The treasurer will analyze historical data to determine the price.
Half-time Field Goal Contest: Tournament style, where there is one winner. Winner will receive a cash prize, or T-shirt, etc.
The Student Council must track all transactions for the event.
3. Strengthen partnership with the administration with periodic meetings with Ms. Dean.

Powder Puff
Powder Puff is a football game where the classes play against each other (Freshman vs. Sophomore & Junior vs. Senior). Powder Puff will take place in November this year. Due to chaperone costs, several ideas were proposed to offset the impact to the profit, including concessions, T-Shirts, masks, and a half-time field goal contest.
