What are Regionals?
What are Regionals?
Regionals refers to the West Suburban Science League (WSSL), held among several Middlesex-area towns. Every month, there are 4 events, each coached by a Regional Officer. After weekly science team meeting announcements are finished, students interested in an event will follow that Regional Officer to a classroom, where the officer will coach and administer tests to decide the A and B teams.*Â
A Team - top 4, scored at competition- contribute to overall standing in WSSLÂ
B Team - next top 4, unscored at competition Â
The Regionals Meet is held at a local high school on the second Thursday of every month from October to February. The entire selection process occurs in the month before the meet. Typically the teams are decided through testing.Â
