Dear Parents and Guardians:
We welcome you and your child to the Acton-Boxborough Regional Schools. As teachers and administrators, our purpose is to provide a Kindergarten experience that will prove to be an excellent beginning for your child’s school years. This site supports our Kindergarten orientation program and to help you through the registration process.
We start our relationship with the class of 2039 and their families in the winter of 2026 and are happy to answer any of your questions. We welcome your suggestions and your support, and look forward to working with you and your child in the fall.

KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION FOR THE 2026-2027 SCHOOL YEAR
Please note that your child must be 5 years old by September 1, 2026 to register for Kindergarten. This is an Acton-Boxborough school policy and there are no exceptions.
Updated Information for Incoming Kindergarten Families - January 25, 2026 Message
At its January 22 meeting, the Acton-Boxborough Regional School Committee voted to reorganize the elementary schools beginning next school year. As a result of this decision, there will be three elementary school options for student placement: the Boardwalk Campus, the Parker Damon Building, and Blanchard Elementary School.
The School Committee also voted to transition from an Open Enrollment placement process to a geography-based placement process. Under this model, school placement will be determined by a student’s residential address in Acton or Boxborough. Students who participate in specialized Special Education programs will be placed at the school where their program is housed.
Geographic attendance zones are currently under development and will be finalized over the next several weeks. Placement information will be shared with families later this spring once this work is complete. After placements are announced, schools will plan opportunities later in the spring and throughout the summer for incoming families to tour their school and meet teachers and staff.
In the meantime, the district is planning a webinar for February 11 at 7pm for all incoming kindergarten families. The webinar will provide an overview of the Acton-Boxborough kindergarten program and outline the steps in the registration process.

Please Review the Below Steps to the Registration Process
If you sign-up for our Kindergarten e-mail list, you will receive messages that provide updates about upcoming informational events, registration deadlines, and reminders intended to assist you with navigating the enrollment process. You can sign up at any point in the process (starting today!)
Plan to log in to A-B's Kindergarten Information night on February 11, 2026 at 7pm where we will provide an overview of the Kindergarten experience and review the different steps that are part of the registration process. This event will be recorded and will be posted on this website shortly after it takes place.
Kindergarten Registration will open after the Information Night.
In order to complete the registration process, you will need to upload several documents. Click here for the list of documents you will need.
Families will receive their student's placement information via email. Once you have reviewed the information, you can find other ways to learn about your child's new school placement!
Please keep in mind the other deadlines in the Summer to submit children's medical forms (to the school nurse) and bus forms (to the transportation office)
