Welcome to the ABIS PYP Exhibition 2021. This has been an extremely challenging year all around the globe and especially for the Grade 6 students of ABIS as the academic year progressed from online, to face to face, then back online! Despite this the students have overcome the many challenges and we are proud to share all they have learned in their journey through the PYP, through the presentation of the Exhibition.
Every student had the opportunity to decide on a local and global issue that they wanted to pursue further. After some voting, the students were put into 8 groups based on their interests. They then worked collaboratively to write their own lines of inquiry. They conducted independent and group research, before thinking creatively about how they would present their findings on this website.
The approaches to learning skills of; thinking, communication, self-management, social and research skills were explored and challenged in this journey. How they think of an issue they want to explore, find ways to explore it through different ways with different people, manage their emotions when facing setbacks, and communicate their thinking to others are parts of a process that is valuable not only for this PYP Exhibition journey, but also beyond it, for their life. They have also shown agency; voice, choice, and ownership in the process, as they planned and organised their learning whilst pursuing their own area of interest.
Well done Grade 6, it’s been a challenging time but you made it, be proud, we are!!!!
