Required First Grade Supplies for the 2022-2023 School Year

The following supplies are required for First Grade:

  • 1 sturdy backpack, large enough for a binder and lunchbox.

  • 1 Avery Black Binder (with clear plastic sleeve on the front) or a Folder with Prongs (stays at home)

  • 1 pair of headphones or ear buds (to keep at school for using the Chromebooks)

    • This may need to be replaced if it gets ruined throughout the school year.

  • 1 plastic pencil box 5" X 8" (no pencil bags, please, and must snap closed)

  • 5 boxes of crayons (CRAYOLA 24-pack, please)

  • 1 large pencil eraser

  • 1 package of 6 glue sticks (JUMBO size, please)

    • This supply will need to be replenished throughout the school year.

  • 4 boxes of sharpened pencils (Ticonderoga brand, please)

  • 8 black dry erase markers

  • Kid scissors (one for school and one for home)

  • 3 two-pocket folders (red, yellow, and blue)

  • 1 primary composition book

  • 1 heavy duty plastic two pocket folder for homework (green please!) *Mead Five Star is wonderful!

    • This may need to be replaced if it gets ruined throughout the school year.

  • 3 boxes of tissues

  • 1 box of sandwich bags and gallon sized bags

  • 1 container of disinfecting wipes

  • 1 bottle of hand sanitizer


After you buy your supplies you will need to sort them:

· In your child's pencil box, you will need to put the following items in: 1 box of crayons, 2 pencils, 1 dry erase marker, 1 glue stick, pair of kid scissors, and eraser. Please make sure their name and 1-Allen is written on their pencil box and then place their pencil box in their school bag. Please make sure all these supplies fit inside the pencil box. The pencil box MUST be able to close and will be stored in your child’s desk.

· Put any extra glue sticks, pencils, dry erase markers, crayons, markers in a labeled gallon size plastic bag with your child's name on the front. Then, put this bag along with the rest of the school supplies in a labeled brown shopping bag and send it in with your child.

· Please be sure to label all of your child’s folders, composition book, zip lock bag of extra supplies, lunch box, snack, and school bag with your child’s name on it.

· Please make sure you keep a pencil box of supplies at home for your child to complete homework. You should have an extra set of crayons, pencils, glue sticks, and kid scissors at home.

Your child can bring these supplies with them on the first day of school which is on Tuesday September 6th, 2022. If it is too much for your child to carry, you can drop these supplies off to the Copper Beech corridor on Wednesday August 31st, Thursday September 1st, or Friday September 2nd between 8:30 and 3:00.


If you do drop off these supplies, please make sure they are all in a large bag with your child’s name on it, as well as Allen-1 on it.


You can also send the supplies in with your child throughout the first week of school.


Please find a list below of items that we are always in need of in our classroom when school begins in person instruction. If you are able to donate any of these items, I would really appreciate it!

Additional prizes for our class prize box are also appreciated. This includes decorative pencils, erasers, tattoos, stickers, bouncy balls, small containers of playdoh, race cars, small fidget toys, etc.
