Variety of Events
Classroom Visit: Times vary, anywhere from 9:30-2:30 depending on when the class meets. These sessions occur within a classroom period, with the classroom teacher introducing the class and discussing current or upcoming relevant projects and topics. In this environment, it is possible to include an activity for students to participate in.
Panel Discussions: This event brings together a variety of industry professionals discussing their career journeys and all the twists and turns along the way. Our panels typically have 6-8 panelists from a very wide variety of careers, and anywhere from 30-40 students attend the program. Panelists join our students in lunch/breakout sessions to go into more detail about their specific career pathway.
Micro Internships: During a Micro Internship, an Industry Partner collaborates with a classroom teacher to deliver a project to students which reflects their Career Pathway. Partners can visit the classroom in person or virtually, over the course of a few weeks to see the project from inception to completion.
Site Visits: A group of students accompanied by a teacher visits an Industry Partner’s workplace.
Career Mentorship: Students are matched one-to-one with an Industry Professional, this mentor serves as a resource for students by sharing insights and providing encouragement and guidance about the workplace, work ethics, careers, and educational requirements.
Student Organization Support: Various student organizations (Amnesty International, Mini Thon, GSA, Our Minds Matter, DECA, UNICEF) host internal events/competitions/workshops/mock interviews with the support of Industry Partners.
