VEX is an education and competition non-profit foundation. Teams solve real world problems using robotics, programming, STEM, team work, leadership, and other engineering concepts. Typically, the competition is team based or head to head.
Our school switches to VEX for the spring semester. We form three separate teams, and compete with two. ATEMS Robotics has two registered VEX teams 9871A and 9871B.
ATEMS Robotics competed in the 2018 Ruble in the Falls competition in Wichita Falls, Texas. Our two teams (9871A and 9871B) both moved on to semi-finals. One of our teams received the overall excellence award. It was a very successful trip for ATEMS Robotics.
VEX In the Zone is played on a 12 ft. by 12 ft. field. This year, the VEX Field has no inside barriers. Robots can go anywhere within the field. Because the two alliances are not separated, our robot could be obstructed by the opponent. ATEMS is equipped with a full sized field with a quarter of the field elements. Each year, our functional robots compete on our home field to become on of our two competition robots.
