HB 1416 STATE REQUIRED ACCELERATED INSTRUCTION

Grades 9-12

English I, English II, US History, Biology, Algebra I

ATTENDANCE POLICY FOR PROMOTION & COURSE RECOVERY

FOR COURSE RECOVERY IN GRADES 9-12

Students must complete all required coursework within the summer school program dates.

TARDY POLICY

Because of the short length of class sessions and academic intensity of summer school, prompt and consistent attendance is required. Under the discipline management system of summer school, students who are persistently tardy to class may be dropped from attendance at summer school. Five tardies of fewer than 10 minutes each shall count as one absence.

DRESS CODE & DISCIPLINE

Grades 9-12

All students attending summer school sessions in AISD schools will be subject to the dress code as well as the disciplinary policies of AISD. Students will be subject to removal from the summer school program WITHOUT a refund if referred to school administration more than twice.

COURSE SELECTION

Schedules are made by the administration based on enrollment. Courses canceled due to insufficient enrollment will result in a refund or the opportunity for the selection of another course. Honors and AP courses will not be offered.

REFUND POLICY

Students who are dropped for disciplinary reasons from enrollment in summer school or who have been dropped because of excessive tardies or absences will NOT be refunded any tuition or fee. Refunds cannot be made after the third day of classes. All requests must be approved by the administration.
