Over the next few weeks we will be offering the pre-school children opportunities to take part in the wider life of the school as part of their preparation for moving to Primary 1.
Please read through the letter that has been sent home to see some of the things that will be happening, and add dates to your diary.
Letters have been sent home, detailing is your child's first morning will be the 20th, 21st or 22nd August, before all children join together for a morning on the 23rd.
Morning sessions give the children a chance to settle gradually, and for the teacher to spend time getting to know children and setting up the classroom environment to best fit their needs.
Some of the current P1 children have put together a video to tell you about their time in P1.
We are proud of how confidently they can share their experiences with you!
Prior to your child's first day of school, spend time talking about any excitement or fears. Throughout their transition from Nursery to P1, children are given a chance to get to know the environment, staff and friends that will be involved in school, and this leaves them feeling eager to start.
The Scottish Book Trust have put together a session themed around transitioning to school. Click on Bookbug to find out more.
