Your child will learn through Curriculum for Excellence which is the curriculum used throughout Scotland. The Early Level provides a framework for children's learning in the pre-school years and in primary 1. Curriculum for Excellence places a strong emphasis on health and wellbeing, literacy and numeracy and highlights that it is the responsibility of all staff working with children to promote these areas of learning.

OUTDOOR LEARNING
At Westpark Nursery, our children are encouraged to make use of our lovely outside space. We venture out in all weathers to enjoy our learning outdoors - developing our safety skills, and building self confidence. We have a range of activities and resources available, and are constantly adding to and changing our outdoor area to fit childrens' needs and interests. Seesaw
Seesaw is a digital app-based platform that allows students, teachers, and parents or guardians to share their children's work work. From August 2024 parents will have access to communications and learning from nursery to primary 3. There we will share observations and photos and send announcements. Parents are encourgaed to post learning from home.
Key Worker
Your child will be allocated a Key Worker who will be responsible for the tracking and recording of your child's development. The Key Worker will meet with you every 8-10 weeks to discuss your child's progress and next steps, this can be carried out at an allocated time face to face or virtually.
