Early Learning and Childcare

Rationale for Play

“At Heathryburn Nursery, we provide opportunities for learners to gain lifelong experiences through play.  Children access enabling environments both indoors and outdoors, developing their natural curiosity.  Our planning, delivery and observation of activities facilitates children to learn about the world around them whilst encouraging them to take ownership of their learning.  We aspire to set the foundation for a positive learning journey, ensuring that we provide children with the experiences & spaces they need to grow and develop in every way.”

Realising the Ambition – Being Me Section 4

Welcome to Heathryburn ELC Setting!

We look forward to working closely with you as we support, nurture and encourage your child to develop their skills and abilities through a range of stimulating play-based learning opportunities.

Our bright, modern and well-equipped setting is the perfect place for your child to begin their early learning journey and we are excited to be operating under the new 8am to 6pm model to provide 1140 hours of quality Early Learning and Childcare.  Making full use of the nursery classroom, garden, wider school facilities and local community, we strive to foster creativity, exploration and a passion for learning.

At Heathryburn ELC, we are passionate about understanding our learners as individuals.  We take pride in closely observing, monitoring and reporting on learning and development to ensure that we continually meet the ever-changing needs of our pupils.  A key element in this process is parental engagement; we are eager to enter into partnership with you in order to best support your child’s needs and ongoing development.

Our handbook will provide you with key information relating to our nursery, however, should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the school or a member of Nursery staff.
