Mathematics comprises of:
• Number, Money and Measurement: learning to add, subtract, multiply and divide, as well as to work with money, time, length, weight, area and volume.
• Information Handling: gathering, organising, displaying and interpreting data.
• Shape, Position and Movement: learning about the properties of 2 and 3 dimensional shapes and to understand position and movement

We utilise mental maths strategies from Big Maths and each day your child will take part in a 20 minute CLIC session before their main maths lesson.
CLIC stands for:
C: Counting
L: Learn Its (recall of addition and multiplication facts)
I: It's Nothing New (application of number facts)
C: Calculations (mental and written strategies)
In school, each week, children complete a Learn Its and a CLIC challenge. The answers that they provide tell their teacher what skills they understand and allow teachers to focus on teaching the skills that they don’t (as well as new skills that will be taught).
Your child, or their teacher, will be able to tell you which CLIC level they are currently working on.
