Enhanced Provision

Our Enhanced Provision, the Dolphin Room, opened in August 2021 and caters for 7 learners with a range of complex needs from across the City. These learners are planned for individually and included in their mainstream class where appropriate. Learners in our mainstream classes do not access the provision as spaces are allocated centrally by the Child's Planning Support Forum. To be considered for a space in the Dolphin Room, submission of a Child Plan to the Child's Planning Support Forum should be made. A panel then consider learners across the city and offer places accordingly. Learners offered a place in the Enhanced Provision can apply for transport to be provided to the school 

The Dolphin Room is situated at the front of our school. It is a double classroom with a wet area, and a small sensory room, the Rainbow Room. There is a disabled toilet with changing facilities situated within the provision. We have a secure garden where the learners can safely explore outdoor learning, as well as trips to our local 'Wee Green Space' for learners who are able.

Learners have the opportunity to join with their mainstream classes where this is appropriate and the level of this varies widely depending on each learners individual needs.

The Dolphin Room is overseen by our Principal Teacher, Jenny Sim. Mrs Stott teaches in the Dolphin Room Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Mrs Sim teaches the class on a Wednesday. Mrs Little and Miss Wilson are both PSAs who work in the provision.

Learners are planned for on an individual basis alongside partners where appropriate using the Curriculum for Excellence and the Foundation Milestones. Staff work closely with Speech and Language Therapists to plan and support the learners language and communication.

The class space is split into zones to support the learners understanding of what activities and learning may take place in each space.
