Our school is an Eco friendly school. We currently have 2 Eco flags and we are looking to add more. An Eco flag is achieved by doing something for the community such as helping the environment. We are very proud of our flags and hope to add some more.
The digital pupil voice group is a group that works hard to learn to use the digital devices in school to support all pupils at Charleston primary school in their learning.
We aim to try to….
Find out what apps people use, what apps we have available on the iPads, and what apps we would like to add to the iPads. We are also working towards our digital school award.
The charity group comes up with ideas to raise money for local charities. Right now we have been raising money for a charity named Friends of Anchor in the memory of Miss Wilson. We hosted an art competition where pupils can make a piece of art inspired by the friends of anchor logo.
This is where pupils are able to promote resources, techniques and approaches that help our classroom to become dyslexia friendly for everyone. You don't have to have a dyslexia diagnosis to learn all about the read and write tools as these tools can help with learning, especially if you have dyslexia.
Charleston school wants to be a Rights Respecting School so we now have a Rights Respecting Group.
The Rights Respecting group’s main role is to work as a team to accomplish becoming a Rights Respecting School. We are currently working on completing the work to earn a Bronze Award. To achieve this we need to discover if our school pupils know what their rights are. Part of our work will be sharing the United Nations Rights of the Child Articles in more depth, with the rest of the school. We will also be planning a big cultural breakfast to celebrate our diversity.
The main target of the JRSO group is to work towards Charleston becoming a junior road safety officer school. This term, Group A is aiming to find out how people travel to school and road safety near our school. We know that parking near the school is a big problem. We want to find out the opinions of pupils, parents, staff and the community about road safety and parking around the school. This will help us to create our school travel plan. We will be trying to promote safe parking by informing parents and pupils where they can and can't park.
