Course Overview
The course provides learners with the opportunity to acquire and develop the skills of listening, talking, reading and writing in the foreign language and the application of these skills.
This course aims to enable pupils to:
understand detailed and complex written and spoken information in the modern language
from the contexts of society, learning, employability, culture
use detailed and complex written and spoken language in the modern language from the contexts of society, learning, employability, culture

Assessment Methods
The course assessment has five components. The course assessment will take the form of a performance, through which learners will demonstrate their talking skills, and a written assignment. There will also be two question papers where learners will demonstrate their listening, reading and writing skills.
Components 1-3 (Exam):
Paper 1 - Reading (25%) and Directed Writing (12.5%)
Paper 2 - Listening (25%)
Component 4&5 (Course work)
Performance Talking (25%)
Assignment (12.5%)
Entry Requirements
National 5 French at Grade A /B or equivalent.
