S2 Business and Accounting

The Course has an overarching theme of Ethical Business and encourages learners to think ethically and logically to apply these principles to everyday lives and to the creation of a business.  Pupils will explore:

• Ethical trading 

• FairTrade

• Charities

• Social enterprises

• Leadership

• Marketing

• Finance - with an emphasis on sources of finance and budgeting - making use of spreadsheet software.  

All of the skills learned here will be applied to an Enterprise Activity in December.

From January, learners will explore developing and developed countries, global trade, internal and external factors, the interest and influence of stakeholders in business and the importance of tourism to the Scottish economy, culminating in a tour designed by the learners in groups.
