As those lamps of silver, with flaming cotton wicks
Are berthed on pedestals displaying Rangoli art in rioting colours
Diwali in all its majestic grandeur steps in with mirth and cheer
And gales of laughter and din of crackers make Aashiana roar.
Children dance wrapped around in silken garments that rustle
Ushering in Diwali in all festive spirits and dazzling lights
May your life sparkle by the brilliance that pervades
With eternal mirth, grandeur and glee, all humour filled.
Let fragrance waft in air and diffuse your home so serene and sweet
Let this Diwali dispel the darkness away and romp in frolics 'n fun
Let unity prevail, camaraderie flourish -- pangs of jealousy be buried
Let's all unite and pray for the good of all
