Co-Curricular Code of Conduct
AASD will be using the Infinite Campus Portal to collect signatures (parent/guardian and student) on required documents including Co-Curricular Forms.
This form MUST be completed before students can participate in Drama Club productions.
Instructions on how to complete these required forms: video, slides, and written instructions.
GET INVOLVED WITH CREW!
Our crews bring each production to life, building the entire world of the play from the ground up.
This includes:
set design
set construction
scenic painting
sound effects
lighting design
costumes
hair and makeup
props
and more!
STAGE CREW
Stage Crew members work with Technical Directors to build and paint the set, develop sound effects, design lighting, organize props, and ensure the stage is set for the show! Stage Crew will also run lights, sound, and scene changes during performances.
No experience needed, but being on Crew means being a problem-solver, and interested students should be observant, dependable, and motivated. Stage Crew is about owning your responsibilities and supporting the show with confidence, care, and action.
The full Spring Stage Crew schedule will be available in January. An outline is available here.
COSTUME CREW
Working closely with the Costumers, Costume Crew assists in selecting, altering, and organizing costume pieces, designing hair and makeup looks that reflect the world of the play.
No sewing experience required; however, because working with Costumes often involves others’ personal space and body confidence, interested students are expected to demonstrate kindness, professionalism, and a non-judgmental attitude.
The full Spring Costume Crew schedule will be available in January. An outline is available here.
PRIOR TO CREW INTERVIEWS
Students interested in Crew should:
Sign up for interviews on the theatre board (located outside the backstage doors near the John St. doors)
Pick up a Participation Packet in the office (available in January)
Review and complete the Participation Form and Agreement with their home adult
Students must bring their signed and completed Participation Form and Participation Agreement to Crew Interviews.
INTERVIEWS
On February 5th, students should arrive at the auditorium by 5:00PM.
Crew Interviews will consist of a short meeting with the Directing Staff, where students will be asked to discuss:
Past theatrical experience
Personal skills and interests
Abilities they would like to learn or develop
Students will be released once their interview is complete.
AFTER INTERVIEWS
Students will receive access to a Google Doc containing the the Production Roster (cast, crew & pit list) via email and Remind on Saturday, February 7th
All students are required to initial the Google Doc to accept their role or position.
All Students should plan to attend Orientation (First Rehearsal) on Monday, February 9th at 5:30PM
Please note: In the past, cast members have occasionally also participated in Build Crew or Costume Crew. However, due to the significant time commitment required for both Cast and Crew students and the increase in overlapping schedule times for both departments, students will be asked to choose either Cast or Crew participation for each production.
Cast students may still choose to contribute additional hours to the production by volunteering during Build and Costume Days.
