If you have a student in mind that would be a good candidate to attent the National Youth Science Camp, they will now be able to apply until April 1, 2021. After careful consideration, the National Youth Science Foundation has decided to extend the deadline for applications to the 2021 Virtual National Youth Science Camp (NYSCamp) to April 1, 2021.
“We believe the confluence of the pandemic, severe weather, and resulting technology limitations, has prevented many qualified candidates from learning about the National Youth Science Camp or being able to complete their applications by the original February 28th deadline. We hope this change will allow more students to learn about and complete applications to attend the camp," stated Dr. Brian Kinghorn, NYSCamp Director.
The mission of the National Youth Science Foundation is to inspire lifelong engagement and ethical leadership in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and related professions through its proven educational model for mentoring, challenging, and motivating students. By building communities among students, teachers, and professionals, National Youth Science Foundation programs complement, broaden, and enhance the traditional school curriculum leading to careers in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and related professions.
