Solar panels would greatly affect STEAM. For one, they would reduce carbon emissions and save fossil fuels, as you probably know.

But solar panels do much more than that. Solar panels will require much less maintenance than the current system.

Because STEAM is a school, putting solar panels on STEAM would help students better understand the costs and benefits of different types of energy production.

We will save money for our schools if we produce our own energy. In stead of spending money on fossil fuel consumption, the district will be able to spend less money on STEAM’s energy and invest in educational needs. If STEAM generates more energy than they need, it goes into the grid, and the community burns less fossil fuels. During the summer we use much less energy at school, and we hope to provide energy for other buildings that need air conditioning.
