For this project I used a round canvas and airdry clay. I built up the craters and texture on the moon and then painted on top of it. I really enjoy going outside and just looking at the moon, especially when its a full or specialty moon. I tried to add contrast with the different shades of grey and some yellows. Its 3D and I used paint to accentuate all the grain and craters.
