Mental Health Digital & Hard Copy Books Ready for Students to Check Out!
March is Reading Month!
The Counseling Department has purchased the following books in different mental-health categories to support social/emotional wellness. These new resources are a result of the Mental Health Grant we were awarded this year.

Description: The Clague counselors will share an overview of the academic, career and social emotional services offered to students. 12:30-1:00 P2P Student Panel Discussion
Description: The Clague counseling team is currently working with 15 student leaders representing 6th, 7th and 8th grades in partnership with the P2P University of Michigan Depression Center staff. Students will discuss tips and strategies to manage online learning. They will also address common misconceptions about depression and how to reach out for help. FEBRUARY CELEBRATES
Clague students will attend the Virtual Career Project in February!
Students will have the opportunity to hear virtual presentations from a diverse group of community members during their Advisory classes.
There are six career zones identified for Michigan that are designed to cover all career opportunities .
We thank our community members, including Clague parents, for sharing their time and talents in all six career zones with our students in their recorded presentations!
January Counseling Highlights 2021
Clague Middle School's Counseling Department has been awarded a Youth Mental Health Mini-Grant in the amount of $4,797.17!
Clague's counseling team is excited to announce our grant application was accepted! This funding was made possible by the Washtenaw County Mental Health Public Safety Preservation Millage, and Washtenaw Intermediate School District.
Funds will be used for: a school license and digital copy of the film "The Bully," an educator tool-kit for bullying prevention and the lessons offered in the book, "Owning Up: Empowering Adolescents to Create a Culture of Dignity & Confront Social Cruelty and Injustice", a mental health library for students that includes developmentally-appropriate titles (digital and hard copy) that address students' social emotional learning, furniture to create a safe and inviting space for our students, and a book mobile to display and categorize books into mental health topics. Stay tuned for more information about when and how students will be able to access these amazing resources.
December Counseling Highlights 2020
An Educational Development Plan (EDP) is a Digital Portfolio showing your educational and career goals, a plan to achieve these goals, and the activities you’ve accomplished. We use a computer program called Naviance to keep track of your EDP. You will work and add to your EDP each year.
It is a requirement for all 6th, 7th and 8th grade students to complete their EDPs. Please see the instructional videos below from your counselors to help you.

November Counseling Highlights 2020
Mental Health Awareness and Education continues at Clague as Peer to Peer (P2P) launches this school-wide initiative.
The Clague counseling team is currently working with 15 student leaders representing 6th, 7th and 8th grades in partnership with the P2P University of Michigan Depression Center staff.
Clague counselors, social worker and Clague P2P student leadership teams joined other middles schools from Washtenaw County at the annual Virtual Kick-Off Conference held on November 13, 2020. Clague Counselors and P2P UM - Depression Center staff will continue working with Clague P2P student leaders addressing mental health within our school community. They will launch various projects and campaigns throughout the school year. Stay tuned for more to come!
October Counseling Highlights 2020
October is National Bullying Prevention Month.
The Clague Counseling Department has partnered with the Washtenaw Area Council for Children (WACC) to present about Cyber Safety the last two weeks of October in their Homebase classes.
