The Journal of Paralegal Education and Practice is a double-blind peer-reviewed scholarly journal that publishes scholarship on educating paralegals and the paralegal profession. The Journal also publishes work by enrolled or recent graduates of paralegal programs on any law-related topic in its Student Spotlight section.
Publication Guidelines
Submitted work must:
Present new scholarship or provide a new perspective on existing scholarship
Contain substantial references
Conform to the style guidelines
Be original, unpublished, and written by the author - not AI. Authors who use generative AI for a substantial portion of the writing process must disclose how they used AI and what portion of the manuscript is drafted by AI. Authors who use AI for research are responsible for the accuracy of the results.
By submitting an article to this journal, the lead author certifies that 1) The manuscript does not report research involving human subjects; OR 2) The manuscript reports research involving human subjects, AND all research studies involving human subjects were reviewed by the applicable institutional review board (IRB) and approved or determined to be exempt. Include a statement within the manuscript describing the IRB approval obtained or exempt status.
Authors retain copyright and ownership of articles submitted to the Journal of Paralegal Education and Practice but grant JPEP the right to publish the article and allow its members to use articles in the classroom with appropriate attribution.
