As part of the Anne Arundel County Public Schools Programs of Choice, the Science, Technology, Engineering & Math (STEM) Magnet program offers an educational choice for academically able and motivated students interested in rigorous and relevant studies.
STEM students learn in a challenging, high-tech atmosphere using real-world problems and a hands-on approach. Instruction is integrated across disciplines, project-based and involves collaboration through job shadowing and internships with corporate partners.
The STEM magnet program requires students to begin in the 9th grade and continue the program through 12th grade. The online application is open from October to early December only. All applications are evaluated to ensure that candidates meet the minimum requirements for the program and final selections are made by an unweighted lottery. See the AACPS Magnets Information site for more info.
