SAT
PSAT/NMSQT
PSAT 10
PSAT 9
…it’s important to know that accommodations (such as extended time, frequent breaks, or assistive technology) must be approved in advance by the College Board.
AP Exams (May 2025): Request by January 15, 2025
Spring SAT School Day (April 2025): Request by February 15, 2025
PSAT/NMSQT & PSAT 10: Request well before the test date

Talk to Your Student’s School
Most schools submit the request for you. Contact your School Testing Coordinator, Ms. Schuler, for support.
Submit Required Documentation
Documentation of the student’s disability and their use of accommodations (for at least 4 months) must be submitted. A signed SSD Parent Consent Form is also required.
Check the SSD Online Portal
After submission, families and schools can track the status of the request in the SSD Online Portal.
Having an IEP or 504 Plan does not automatically qualify a student for College Board accommodations.
Once approved, accommodations typically remain in place throughout high school—no need to reapply every year!
Parents/Guardians of first time Grade 9 students will receive a detailed email by July 31, 2025, with more info about the October PSAT 8/9.
Have a current IEP or 504 Plan (active for at least 4 months)
Have used the accommodations in school for at least 4 months
Have a documented disability
Have a signed SSD Parent Consent Form on file at school

Thank you for partnering with us to support your student’s success!
Because the approval process can take up to seven weeks, it’s best to start well before the test date. Keep in mind:
It is usually easier and more efficient to work through the school.
SSD cannot review the request until all required documentation is received.
If additional documentation is required—or if a request is resubmitted—approval can take an additional seven weeks.
If you miss a deadline, accommodations might not be approved or in place on test day.
The fall administration of the PSAT 8/9 assessment will take place on October 8, 2025.
First time Grade 9 students will participate.   Â
Students who receive testing accommodations in school through an IEP or 504 Plan do not automatically qualify for the accommodation on College Board exams (AP Exams, SAT, PSAT) — they must still be approved by the College Board’s Services for Students with Disabilities, and in some cases, documentation will be requested for the College Board’s review. Students cannot take the SAT, PSAT/NMSQT, or AP Exams with accommodations unless their request for accommodations has been approved by Services for Students with Disabilities (SSD). Once approved, accommodations will stay in place for the remainder of High School.Â
