Did you know there are animals you can only see in Italy? There are animals like Corsican hare, the Sardinian long-eared bat and the Sardinian deer.

The long-eared bat has, as it's name implies, has big long ears. Long-eared bats like to eat moths, flies, leafhoppers, caddisflies, and beetles. Sadly, the long-eared bats are impacted by the disease white nose syndrome. Because of the white nose syndrome, long-eared bat was listed as threatened under the Endangered Species Act on April 2, 2015.

The sardinian deer is a species of red deer, though they are smaller than other red deer, and have a longer tail. They have the lifespan of 13-14 years. Sadly, the sardinian deer, also known as the corsican deer, are endangered. The sardinian deer were categorized as endangered on the IUCN Red List of Threatened species of 2007.

Corsican hares were once known as a subspecies, but they're now treated as a full species. Corsican hares are large, with brown fur and a cream colored belly. They live mostly in grasslands and dunes. And like the long-eared bats and the sardinian, corsican hares are endangered.

The Maremma Sheepdog is a big fluffy white dog, and people use them to guard sheep from wolves. These dogs are loyal loving and sweet, and make great pets. They live around 12 years, and two males don't get along very well. And they respond well to cats. They have a double coat which is weather resistant and water resistant.

Those are some of the animals in Italy, like Corsican hare, the Sardinian long-eared bat, Maremma Sheepdog and the Sardinian deer.
