The Maryland Comprehensive Assessment Program (MCAP) assessments of Maryland College and Career Ready Standards (MCCRS) will build a pathway to college and career readiness by the end of high school, mark students’ progress toward this goal from grade 3 through high school, and provide teachers with timely information to inform instruction and provide student support. High school students are tested in the following courses (subject to change by MSDE). Testing is scheduled in May of each year, and participation is required for graduation.
*For each of the testing dates listed below, it is the expectation that students who are testing arrive on time to school with fully charged AACPS Chromebooks, as they would for a typical school day. Students who arrive at school without their provided Chromebooks on testing days may be unable to participate in their exams, as they need their AACPS Chromebooks to access the exams. Each of the tests listed below starts at 8:30am.
May 5 (Tuesday): *MCAP Government - all students taking a required Government course
May 6 (Wednesday): MCAP English 10 (day 1) – all students taking an English 10 course (please bring wired headphones)
May 7 (Thursday): MCAP English 10 (day 2) – all students taking an English 10 course (please bring wired headphones)
May 12 (Tuesday): *MISA - Maryland Integrated Science – all students taking a Biology course
May 13 (Wednesday): MCAP Algebra 1 – all students taking an Algebra 1 course
*Exam scores for Science/Biology and Government will count as 20% of the year-long grade for all students in the class 2027 and beyond.
