Mrs. Corcoran serves as the School Counseling Secretary and Registrar at CAT North. She has been a valued member of the CAT North community for 18 years and brings a wealth of experience from a variety of roles within Anne Arundel County Public Schools. Mrs. Corcoran is often one of the first friendly faces students, families, and visitors meet, and she is dedicated to providing exceptional support to the school community. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her grandchildren and vacationing at the beach with family.

Mrs. Smith is proud to serve as a School Counselor at CAT North, where she is celebrating her 17th year supporting students in their academic, career, and postsecondary planning. A lifelong resident of Anne Arundel County, she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Family Studies from Towson University and her Master’s degree in School Counseling from Loyola University Maryland. Mrs. Smith is passionate about helping students discover their strengths, explore career pathways, and prepare for success after high school. Outside of school, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, coaching cheerleading, and baking for those she loves.

Ms. Canterbury is in her 6th year at CAT North and 13th year as a School Counselor. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Human Services from Notre Dame of Maryland University, a Master’s degree in School Counseling from Loyola University Maryland, and National Board Certification in School Counseling. She also serves as an Adjunct Instructor at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES), where she teaches a Career Counseling course. Having worked at the middle school, high school, and college levels, Ms. Canterbury brings a broad perspective to supporting students through educational and career transitions, with a passion for career exploration and postsecondary planning. Outside of school, she enjoys spending time with her family, exploring the outdoors, and expressing her creativity through writing, art, and DIY projects.
At the Center of Applied Technology North, our school counselors work collaboratively to support all students who attend our school. While we operate as a unified team to ensure every student feels heard, valued, and respected, our counselors are directly assigned to specific Career Institutes to provide targeted, industry-aligned support.
