We have chosen to explore the relationship between photography and music by presenting photographs taken by our group that goes alongside a live performance of Romantic Era chamber works. As we perform our live music selections, the photographs taken will be presented on a screen. Our concept statement revolves around the usage of photography to express the simplicity yet complexity of music through a modern-day photographic lens.
This is a traditional music performance with an added twist. Audience members are encouraged to come into the theater and to pick up a program that has added details of our project. The Audience may then choose a seat in the theater where seats will be arranged in the normal fashion. During our performance, we will have our photographs on a screen where audience members are encouraged to view.
Please relax and enjoy as we showcase our views and perspectives of the music in the form of photography!
We have chosen to explore the topic of African American Entertainment by creating a production of multiple dances, scenes and musical pieces. We have specifically chosen art created by black playwrights and songwriters to signify the material presented in our concept. All of the artists in our group are deeply passionate about the content present in our project. We hope to display that passion in our work.
We plan on presenting our collaborative capstone project by creating a large scale production featuring multiple scenes, dances, and songs. This requires an interactive and attentive audience that is mostly comparable to an audience in a classic theater production. The actors and singers encourage the audience to interact with them during musical performances. We hope that we are able to inform our audience on the rich history of African American entertainment and the mark it has left on society today. This production contains sensitive topics and mature language that may be sensitive to younger audiences.
This exhibition takes a look at personal and societal discomfort and how it affects the individual. We chose to explore this because art is not typically made with the express intent to make the viewer uncomfortable. Art is typically meant to show a topic in a pleasing and complex light. We have chosen to challenge this norm and make art that looks nice in an uncomfortable way.
This exhibition is all about feeling, in both the literal and figurative sense. Most pieces are meant to be touched, those that arent will be marked as such. We hope that you enjoy the experience and that you use this exhibit to learn and improve your view of the world.
We have chosen to tackle the concept of life and death. Our concept statement is; life is fleeting and we are all walking the line between life and death. We hope to demonstrate the story of a life in a way that the audience has never seen before, but will be exciting, interesting and engaging.
Come in, find a seat, sit back and enjoy the show! Be ready for an audience talk back at the show’s conclusion. While watching our performance, we encourage you to think about your relationship with and be open to the devillainization of death. We hope you enjoy our show and come away considering what life truly means to you.
MATURE CONTENT WARNING: This performance will contain mild profanity and talks of mental health, depression and suicidal thoughts.
We have chosen to explore unhealthy vs. healthy relationships by throwing an album launch party for an album about relationships featuring original art and music. Our concept statement is that unhealthy relationships, whether big or small, will leave a mark on you. Still, they are a universal experience, and knowing you ́re not alone can bring comfort and empower people to leave.
Please walk around the space and enjoy the art while thinking about how different kinds of relationships make you feel. There will be some live music, and after we will have a talkback where you can ask questions. Feel free to take a CD, a T-shirt, and enjoy the party!
The evolution of technology has made extraordinary changes in society, whether for better or worse. Instantaneous access to information and connection to people around the globe has created an entirely new culture for this generation, who did not know the world before the internet. Through this immersive installation, we are exploring how unrestricted internet access can impact childhood development, both positively and negatively.
THIS CAPSTONE IS RATED PG 13 FOR MENTIONS OF GORE, GROOMING, VIOLENCE, AND MENTAL HEALTH STRUGGLES. As you make your way through the internet, please tread with caution! There are plenty of websites and apps that have the power to suck you in, and you may not like everything you encounter online. Please refrain from touching our set, but feel free to interact with our actors inside!
Love is a major part of life, and it comes in many different shapes and forms. Love, and all its different faces, is often what art revolves around. Our goal for our collaborative capstone project is to combine instrumental music and film, two different forms of art, to specifically explore how people’s perception of love changes throughout a lifetime. We hope we can share the different views of love different people have, and encourage the audience to reflect on their personal definition of love.
While you listen to the music and watch the film please refrain from causing distractions such as speaking loudly, loud phone volume, and flash photography.
On this page, we have provided you with a notecard in which you can write down what YOU think love is and tape it on the board as you head out or share it during our talkback at the end of the show

We have chosen to explore human experiences in fantasies by creating a fantasy concept book titled “Promise to be True”. To go along with our story, we also designed two animatics that showcase our four main human experiences, Loss, Sacrifice, Love, and Self-Awareness. In addition, we will have a music soundtrack including some original compositions and cover pieces. The concept statement is: Fantasy stories foster a call to action for its audience by addressing human experiences portrayed in fantasies.
We plan to present the overall concept of human experiences in fantasy stories by: 1. Showing that even in a fantasy dream world, no world is perfect, 2. Providing different art pieces that represent our human experiences in our program, and 3. Connecting the human experiences to our fantasy concept book. When the audience arrives, we will have a “Promise to be True Overture” playing in the background. Once everyone takes their seats, we will introduce our fantasy story and take the audience on an adventure throughout our main character, Promise’s life of human experiences. We will gain audience participation by performing live music that have a direct linkage to our four main human experiences, Loss, Sacrifice, Love, and Self-Awareness. We will also perform a final concluding piece that represents escapism versus reality. We will have some artwork and music selections printed in our program to provide the audience with more insight on our concept book and overall capstone project.
