Deadlines

PLEASE NOTE: Individual family technical issues, illness, forgetting (whether a student or parent) that prevent you from completing an application and submitting it before deadline do NOT extend application deadlines. If however, a Google outage prevents all from submitting applications in the last 24 hours before a deadline, we will adjust the deadline later equal to the number of hours of the Google outage.


PLEASE ALSO NOTE: Mr. Egna will be traveling out of state and will not be available by phone or email from Friday, 9/29/23 through Sunday, 10/1/23.  


Do not wait until deadline day and risk missing the deadline.


Status

Most families have not had difficulty accessing and submitting audition or tech crew applications. Two families have encountered problems related to a tech issue between their equipment or software and Google. 


Testing

Mr. Egna has confirmed that Bates Drama Club’s website and applications work on Macs and PCs, iPhones and AACPS Chromebooks. He has tested and confirmed that the following web browsers work: Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Microsoft Edge. Mr. Egna does not have access to an Android phone to test but neither of the families who encountered problems were on Android at the time.



Tips to resolve individual tech issues

Trouble can be caused by several different tech problems. We provide below some work-around tips in case they help you. Try the tips that you are familiar with or comfortable doing.


Google 

It could be Google was just glitchy at the time you tried to access and submit an application. If you tried several times over just a few minutes, try again at least an hour later. If you tried several times over several hours, the Google network is probably not the problem. 


Google Account

Try signing in with a different Google account if you have one. One family could not get to the audition application using a parent Google account but had no trouble accessing an application with the student's AACPS Google account. Any Google account should work, but Google at that particular moment was quite persnickety.

 

Web Browser

Another typical area of difficulty is the web browser you are using.

“Manually” submitting applications


If you can access the application but the submit button does not work for you:

For audition applications, email the PDF and headshot to Mr. Egna megna@aacps.org


For tech crew applications, email the PDF to Ms. Peregrina mperegrina@aacps.org



If you cannot access the application, you can use a PDF copy of the appropriate application below. 

If you can on your device and software you use, please type in your entries to reduce the risk of misunderstanding entries as we manually transfer your entries into the application spreadsheets.
